Holiday Update!

Home Sweet Home!

Even though I think the holidays have worked out fairly well, it's still very, very nice to be back home again! I drove down with Zorro today, and I'm feeling quite tired, but I will at least try to give you a "holiday update", so you'll know what's been going on! Hopefully you will enjoy the pictures as well! :)

We split Christmas Eve, sort of like we always do! I spent the "morning", which this year turned out to be from about 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (!!) at my Mum's house, where we ate a lot, spent quality time together, exchanged Christmas gifts and watched the traditional Walt Disney show that airs every Christmas Eve at 3 p.m.
My Dad picked me up at about 5 p.m. and new for this year was that my little sister's grandparents (on her mother's side) were invited for Christmas as well. By the time we arrived, they had pretty much prepared a Christmas dinner .... okay, so it had been about 4 hours since I ate, but since I had had three plates, I honestly could not eat more than one plate ... even though the meal was delicious!!! (one of the problems with splitting your time like that is that people expect you to eat all the time!!) After dinner, we did some clearing and than it was time for "Santa-preparations". This year, interestingly enough, we were to have two Santas!!! Not bad!! :) Since I hardly think my little sister (who is 2½ years old!) will read this - in English!! - I guess it's safe to say that her grandfather and our Dad were the two Santas!! Don't they look great in the picture?!!

I helped the two Santas get ready while my little sister was kept busy by her mother and grandmother! She certainly had the biggest eyes when two Santas came, but once she got used to them, she wasn't scared at all! She accepted gifts from them, helped point out who all of us were etc. It was just WONDERFUL to see!
She got so many gifts, and they took forever to open!! She could open one present and play with it for at least half an hour, and I'm sure she got over 20 gifts ... so we had to wait and open some on Christmas Day and some on Boxing Day! I guess that certainly prolonged her Christmas fun! :)

I spent Christmas Day with my Dad and his family, and Boxing Day with my Mum ... and then I was alone in the summerhouse with Zorro until New Year's ... I spent the morning with my Dad and his family (they came out to the summerhouse), and then I was suppose to drive up to see my Mum ... when her car wouldn't start!! It's fairly old, but it's never just died like that. We tried to use cables connecting the battery on my Dad's car to my Mum's ... didn't work. Finally my Dad towed my Mum's car a bit and then let it roll a bit ... and then it started!!! It certainly gave me quite a scare!! At least I got to celebrate New Year's Eve at my Mum's - we had the most amazing three course dinner, I don't think I've ever eating such a perfect meal before!!!

After that I've mostly spent time with my Dad and his family, and my adorable little sister of course! She's getting a new sibling (and so am I for that matter *lol*!) any day now .... I wonder if it's gonna be a boy or a girl!!! :) :)

I guess maybe I should have made an even more detailed entry now that I've been away for so long, but I hope this one will do. I'm really very very tired, and I have quite a number of "unfinished business", that I've been putting off during the holidays, that I need to start dealing with now. None of them are fun, and to be honest, I don't know how I'll be able to sort everything out - but becuase of that, I don't really feel up to writing much more than this right now. Hope I've at least given you some idea of what's been going on!

And now - picture time!

First, a cute picture of Zorro! :)
Then, some lovely nature photos I took at sunset in the summerhouse!
And last but not least - cute "little-sister-pictures"!! :)

Glad you enjoyed the pics! :)
Yup, not bad to score two Santas - but I agree completely about the masks! It's a wonder not more kids get freaked out by them, they're HORRIBLE!!! Ah well, so long as the kids enjoy them, I guess I can stand them too! :)
